rain rain & more of the same

Here we are at Westwood, 50kms west of Rockhampton where we will leave our motorhome while we go on a cruise.  But the weather is so wet I need to find a dry place to get my washing dry.  A couple of fine days would be just lovely.  We catch the tilt train back down to Sunshine Coast on Thursday so that is why I need DRY clothes to pack.  My winge for the day Cheers

Was just talking to my son in Biggenden kandagal. he said its not raining there now but the farmers reckon they are in for more.

Not sure if you know much of the main street in Biggenden, he rang to tell me the only cafe and the next door lifeline shop burnt to the ground last night at 3am.
Lucky it didn't spread any further, they managed to stop it and only a bit of singed walls on the real estate next door.

Take 'em dirty and get the ship's laundry to wash them.

Oh what a sad event for the lovely small town of Biggenden. We enjoyed our stay there & I even got some books from the op shop. People were so friendly. Already washed them Esmeralda. But we have had 10mins of sunshine inn the last half hour so maybe all will clear

I can relate to the wet dilemma. I camped at Tin Can Bay and it rained heavily for the entire week. I got so sick of soggy everything, including the van when I found another leak.
As soon as the sun popped out I repaired it. The water doesn't always seep through where the actual leak is, but I'm getting pretty good at finding the spot.
In Cairns the non-stop rain made everyone stir crazy. The heavy rain, the clouds, the misery, the darkness and everything was wet. It's very depressing.
If you drape the clothes around the van in the aircon with the aid of a fan it will dry fairly quickly. Good luck, and have a good cruise.

Actually once I'd groaned & moaned a bit this arvo the rain stopped for 1/2hr & the wind blew quite strong & my washing dried. Did a lot of packing then. We travel by tilt train on Thursday & then on Sat we fly to Sydney to catch the ship - Diamond Princess. Haven't been on that ship before but should be good - no cooking, making of beds, cleaning loos for 39 days so that must be all good. Biggest problem is that a lot of the cruise will be in the northern hemisphere - China, South Korea, Taiwan & Japan - all in the middle of winter. Temperature in Beijing yesterday was -2C. So think of me freezing while you lot are all getting soggy. Cheers

Tin Can Bay has had a sunny day today CG. I'm hoping we get some sun tomorrow so I can do some washing AND get it dried!

I'm glad to hear that Beth. It did stop raining after 5 days. I spent the time in the local sport club and even had a little win on Keno. So it wasn't a total waste.
