Hi Noelene,

I am heading over that way but not for a few weeks yet. I am doing the slow trip from Perth. Just pulled in to Jerramungup for a break. When I get to Vic, I am going out to Omeo and Orbost to have a look around and reminisce. I spent a bit of time there as a young fella. Long time ago now, but will be good to have a look.

All the best with your travels, and would be keen for some updates when you get there. Also, will look forward to other replies to your post from others who have been there recently.

In recent years my travels in that area have been serious 4WD drive stuff, camping deep in the bush.

However I have had overnight stops, for the group to meet up, at Mitta Mitta, Omeo, Bruthen, and somewhat nearby Buchan Caves, Caravan Parks. All these parks are OK, good bush/country Parks, nothing flash.

Dont forget to stop for refreshments at the historic Blue Duck Inn at Anglers Rest after driving down from Mt Beauty. Swifts Creek has a good bakery, and after a week in the bush their pies are very welcome.
