Hi all, anyone got a good way of holding my long handle shovel safely and securely to my roof rack with out having to spend the money most 4wd accessory shops want, thanks

Is that a rhino rack that you have in your avatar, how moch are the clamps that rhino make that fit onto the side of their rack?

There are many ways it can be done if you are handy in the shed, but a simple way is two small leather dog collars, ( super market ) lay the shovel in your rack & strap it to the side rails.

Two simple occy straps have held mine on for 15 years, the same two haven't lasted that long but only carry my shovel while travelling.

I used occy straps on a round aust trip and over some very rough tracks and the shovel never moved but buy good quality straps for the job

We've got a beaut old axe like that, had it for years and years... only replaced the handle 3 times, and the head once.

Talking about axes Jim, I am still using my grandfathers axe and it is as good as the day he brought it.

It has only had four new handles and two new heads.

Be good if we could change a few bits like that. lol

My axe is the same one I used when on the farm , except for a couple of handles. Dont even want to think back as to how much wood I have cut with it.
