I think I would be having more to say to Jayco if that was their best answer I noticed that your van is a sterling and I have a 2005 Jayco heritage wit no scratches or cracks in the fibreglass so it would make me wonder if there is a fault in the gel-coat, I have had minor scratches from bushes etc and was able to easily remove tham with a marine fibre glass polish that I got from BCF.

We have a Jayco caravan, recently we noticed tiny scratches all over the outside nothing would remove them, so called Jayco to be told , wait for this! the gell coat on the outside of the van was breaking down due to weather, HOW TO ARREST THIS ? They suggested a few methods which didn't work, I went through everything in my cupboard the solution was DOKTOR POWER MAGIC BLOCK available from BIG W $9.95 large block . this stuff is amazing removed all the dirt or whatever from the scratches so we can now polish the van to help protect it from further problems. WOW it looks like new again can't see the scratches.
Ah the old gelcoat dramas, get hold of a BIAS Boating cat from the newsagent they will have the right polish for the job, its a marine finish so you need a marine polish, there around. Having owned boats scratches in gelcoat can be a pain, I found if you just touch them up with some gelcoat and a small artists brush you can keep on top of them

Thanks for your advice, these scratches are realy weird, there are so many I would be their for ever touching them up with gelcoat, the Doktor magic block has removed the dirt or whatever from them and we have polished it with special fiberglass polish brings it up really well just have to keep the polish up to it we do this anyway, Jayco head office were no help at all and they make the thing, I got this advice from the guy at Coffs, but I don't think he was that informed either. Just wanted to share this in case others have notice the same problem.
