della and her future and her home

not sure if I have welcomed you before Mr G so here's my welcome

That van sounds great, hope you get the price you want for your winnie.

now just a word in your ear, if that bloody iPad will not upload pics I can take it off Della's hands, I will even pay postage to my address in WA, now I can't be fairer than that can I?

Of course you will then have to buy another one for Della biggrinbiggrin

(edited for spelling mistakes)

hi guys well i dont get on much so its been a wile.

della tells me about all these people so now iv meet cruisin and kewe .

well as you know life throws as much at some as it can and i wouldnt wish this on any one . she is a strong little lady my della (thank god ) since ive known della she has had to put up with a lot medical and emotional . and i would like to throw out a big thank you to alll who have sent reguards and welll wishes.

fri /sat were fairly big days for us as we did the looking at van thing .on the way down the coast and back. (its not like looking at cars as we alll know what sort of car we want but vans are different brand length hight weight and on and on and on ) you want the one that ticks the rite boxes and has got your WOW FACTOR not just o i like that or your saying yea but deep inside your thinking mabe not.

well on our way we stoped of at brisy rvs and looking round we walked past this retreat daydream and went na bunk beds ( you know we saw the windows ) and i dont know y but i stuck my head in side and it was like the first time i saw della this van was diferent its got our wow factor my layout even in the front bunk room so up the steeps she came (yet again)

now i know  what some are thinking bunks and theres 2 of you some prob saying retreat yuk buttttttt hear  me through . so now shes looking m nice she said the layout we have discused i like front of axle door ( 2 reasons now mine was i wouldnt like to drop of sompthing with the door behind the wheels and bash the bottom of the door . and sompthing else i had never thought of was the dust factor behind the wheels (thanks kewe) L shaped loungue to the rite fridge in front of you . sink stove and cooker moving to the back . at the rear is the bedroom . it got the type of air vents i like and other things as well larger fridge roll out awnig full anex  bla bla bla or is it tick tick tikc the boxes.

so we went forward to the bunk room with toilet and shower . some very cleaver person has taken out the bunks and very proesionaly instaled a cupboard there running the full length with a washing machine top load 1 cupboard door my ingle will fit there ( beer fridge hehehe) and 2 draws all matching the other benches and table and very very profesionaly done .

we walked away but i was drawn back sompthing i had not done before and started ticking the boxes lenght weight 2540  chassie not full of road but 6 inch dbar and heaver chassie ok now heres the x in the box and i have so far only 1 its got axle suspension . my thoughts hmmmm change them to underslung instant 4 inch lift . and i know if i drag the centre ao the axle over the ground imgoing to be doing some pretty serious bad stuff and della will kill me and i wont be happy eather and other folks have been draging axles around for over 100 yrs . if this idea dosnt work well i will get simplicity suspension instaled later .

so we did a bit of haggling and came up with a price not happy with the trade price for the winnie so gunna do a private sale on that . next week i want to go do a test pull and put it over a weigh bridge to take the gestimation out of the equasion as the front mounted washer could become an isue . and i dont know how true the tare and gvm is all in all its got it for us and after reading forums people seam very happy with there retreat .

so fingers xd people

thanks for your support and see you in gympie

smart idea to do the weigh bridge and tow test - will be interested to here if the stamped weights on compliance plate match weigh bridge weights

Grahame, great to see you on here mate, If it ticks all the boxes & makes you & the little girl happy then why not. There are only two people that have to be happy with it, you & your lady, the rest of the world doesn't matter.

Hope it all works out for you's.

Sounds good Graeme, and probably the best dose of medicine you could both have. I have never heard anything negative about the Retreat either, they always look good, but I have never owned one.

Hope it all works out for you both,

Vic

No, we signed the Wombat Carta (like the Magna Carta) at Baldivis don't your remember?  Peace Accord or something.

Brutus (also called Bluto, although the missus would like call me Blurto) has a peace flower in his hand (ok, ok, it is for Olive, but sounds good). wink

Sorry for the OT Graeme, the flower is for Della to cheer her up, I hope you had a good 55th together. smile

I had to Google the Retreat Daydream, and it looks great to me too. Unusual layout, to my limited knowledge, but seems sensible.

You are one special couple Graeme, you and Della. Wishing you all the best for a long and happy journey.

Who were the Wombat Carta barons - if you are looking for one, three of my forebears were Magna Carta Barons.  Maybe I could be a baroness??  Maybe I will stick with princesshmm

G'day Mr. G .

We have a Retreat Brampton with Simplicity Suspension . Really happy with it .

The tare weight is 2304 and we can carry an extra 600 kgs if needed , which is more than enough .

We bought it through Brisbane RV , and they have been very good to deal with .

tare on id plater read 2140

real tare with washer at front gass bottles and 2 batteries 50 lts water over weigh bridge 2380

gvm 2540

pay load allowed 160 ks

add 80 lts water

only left80 ks for our stuff

-------------------------------------------

new weights

new gvm 2740
tare 2380
new pay load 360 ample for us even after water we still have 250 od kgs for our gear . im going to buy a set of scales so we can weigh things as we pack
