One of our GN's stayed at Poona last year, and said it was good.
You can always rely on sandies at any of those beachside places. Don't forget the aerogard!
That might have been us. We stayed at Poona for a week in early Sept last year. The caravan park was no frills but good. It had a relaxed atmosphere which reflected the towns general feel.
Some sites had slabs & some had grass, it was a lovely grassy area. The water is on the edge of the park but it's a tidal mangrove area so, no swimming & would be a problem during midge season also, but was fine when we were there so it might be wise to find out first.
Friday evening the local hall, a block away, puts on a cheap dinner which, when we were there, included a live band. It was a lovely place to meet some locals & other caravaners.
If you ask or look around you will find on the edge of town a lovely bushy coastal walk which takes about half an hour round trip.
You can drive to Rainbow Beach & also Maryborough for day outings while you are there.
The pic is taken at high tide from the edge of caravan park
Hope that helped
Cheers
