Thanks Grey Nomads site, this is where I found the Stockman's Hall of Fame at Longreach call for volunteers which I followed up - and now I've been here a week!
I'm assisting the Hall's Curator to catalogue the thousands and thousands of photos, memorabillia etc that wonderful Australian's give to the Hall as a record of the amazing men and women who opened up this vast country of ours (and still are). If you can use a key board then you can do it too, it's incredibly interesting and the staff are so happy to have us.
The people here are very welcoming and friendly and have really made my little motorhome and me feel like one of the family.
When I went through the H of F, they had some information on an exihibit of We Of The Never Never saying Jeane Gunn was buried at Elsey Station cemetery, which was incorrect. She was buried in Melbourne. See;
I sent them an email pointing this out but they never ever replied. Don't let history get in the way of a good story.
There were a couple of other things there on other exhibits that were incorrect too, but still very worthy of a visit for anyone who hasn't visited it.

Sounds great CF, I will be up there in 17&18 April and the hall of fame was on the to do list. All going well, I have had a problem with my tug. I might do another post on that subject.

When in Alice Springs we volunteered at the Transport Hall of Fame. This also was a good experience. There they offered a powered site for $20 per peron per week. Do they offer anything similar at the hall of fame
