We had a VERY smooth trip back, much to Blues disappointment. He loves the "rock and roll" of a boat.
We had a great time, meet some great people and the food over there is waaaay up there.
I have never had cherries like the ones we had at Snug. Big, Black and crunchy not half soggy like the ones we seem to get at home AND GET THIS only $3.99 per kilo......I kid you not. We pigged out on them while they were available.
Had my first taste of wallaby courtesy of Florinhill.....thanks Bob and Rhonda very tasty indeed.
Yes Marj I believe in Karma and what goes round comes round.
Neilnruth, so glad that nothing like that happened to us. Mind you I think Tassie has the "bendiest" roads in the whole of Australia but it's like anywhere you go, if you drive to the conditions and to your own capabilities (keeping in mind courtesy to the bloke following you) then you have no problems at all.
Four months was sufficient for us and we saw everything we wanted to see and more besides.
If there is one thing you MUST do if you go to Tassie, take the time to go to Strahan and do the Gordon River Cruise on the Lady Jane Franklin II. Wonderful trip and well worth the money. It's a full day with buffet lunch included and two shore excursions.
If you can manage your trip to coincide with the Pennyfarthing Races and Festival at Evandale you will be assured of a great day. It's a credit to the little town and the people who have such pride in their village.
Having said all that 'IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME"

We certainly do make some great friends on this forum. So many are willing to help another in need. Sometimes its a case of pay it forward. Someone helps you, you go on to help someone else. What a great bunch.
So how was your trip back across the waters Ma? Did a southerly push you back as anticipated? Did you enjoy your Tassie trip and did you see enough? The first time we went to Tassie we wrote our car off with a hired van jack-knifing us. (faulty brakes). It was an interesting experience trying to get all our stuff plus 5 kids back to the mainland without a car.
Nice to see you back, and your front. I have to say GN is good for making friends and networking. I always feel close to everyone, even if you and I haven't met, and we might be 1000kms apart. We are never far apart thanks to GN. I will get to Tassie one day. It's on the bucket list, along with a European river cruise and the train/cruise through Canada and Alaska. One can dream, can't one?
