It has been proven that polishing light aircraft makes them more efficent on fuel & a higher speed.
Mine is always highly polished to protect it from the elements & also makes it easier to clean as the grime does not stick as hard, so I guess I;m doing as good as I can expect.

Once before we head off and then again a good clean and polish when we get back.
It has been found that 83% of the time it does increase fuel efficiency.
Also 95% of the people asked in a survey, said that when they went to purchase a secondhand caravan, they would look for a well maintained, polished caaravan.
75% of dealers surveyed said that a well polished caravan, brings a higher price.
However, the polish manufacturer "Mothers" said that in 60% of instances people used the wrong polish and in nearly 100% of the time they did not realize that after applying polish, they should seal it with a coat of wax.
There are special polishes for different surfaces.
Fibreglass polish does not contain any amonia, because this will cause the white gelcoat to yellow.
Aluminium polish contains special ingredients to stop it from rusting.
Wood polish has ingredients to stop it rotting.
High speed polish has a bug inhibitor to stop bugs from sticking to it, so as to retain the ability to achieve high speeds. e.g. airplanes.
About 60% of the above posting is fact and the other 40% rubbish.
I will let everyone sort out the facts.
Also, did you know that there was a survey about statistics?
It ws found that 72% of the time statistics are made up on the spot.
Aluminium doesn't rust, it corrodes. Polish on my van would rub the oxidised paint off. I keep it clean, but the coloured stripes are peeling off slowly. So much caravan, so little energy.
