Today, in the Flinders Bay caravan park, Augusta, WA.
Went in for a shower in the gents. Became obvious from conversation between the adjoining cubicles that one of the users was female, chatting with her partner. My wife, who had been earlier, said she had to wait becos the showers in the ladies were full.
Now, I'm as open-minded as the next bloke, but I don't pop into the ladies loo when the gents is full, and I really feel that she should have paid me the same respect. Open to correction, but I feel it was a bit "off".
Cheers, Tony

You are not out of line at all - but that female was - equality is one thing, but privacy is a different issue all together. Were they in the same cubicle??

I would never nick into the mens for a shower, and I certainly would not be happy if a bloke was in the ladies. There are just some things you don't need to see or imagine. lol
This discussion brings back to mind a conversation in the next door cubicle I over heard at Ninben .. the old hippies village in the coastal hills of northern NSW.
It went something like .. " put it in it won't hurt .. you'll like it".
Could never be sure what they were on about.
On the same visit, as we had coffee in a cafe we watched the stream of people going into the back of the tourist shop next door buying little plastic bags of dried lettuce or something.
Meanwhile the police drove up & down the street booking people for incorrect parking .. as they say .. go figure.
Take me back to a time a while back while doing trips with my partner in our truck up in QLD ...5 am in morning woke up and dive in unsex shower that was at the roadhouse ...Other truckie came in to shower next to me doing what men do in showers when think they think they are alone ... I was trying to stay a quite as i could so i did not embarrass him ... My partner said he wouldnt have been worried but i was lol

I went into the wrong toilet (mens) at Eucha. Had been on the paddle steamer and said to Rob when we got off "I'll just duck into the toilet " outside the wharf. As I went in there was a single toilet at the beginning of the room, I went in and thought this is different to the toilet I was in earlier! Anyway I heard a dad tell his son to go in and he would wait outside. I thought Uh Oh........ On coming out I felt very silly!! I had rushed in to the wrong toilets !! Very red faced only you couldn't see it cause my face is brown anyway !!!
Some caravan parks have shower stalls that necessitate stepping out to dry your feet and put your trousers on, as they get wet trying to do it on a wet (sometimes dirty) floor. Wouldnt like to be sitting in my nickers drying my feet if a bloke walked in.

Wow...think how much water and power will be saved when showering with a friend... Heck, if I happened to venture into such a situation then I would somehow join the conversation so as the opposite sex would know I was also in the amenities block. Too Easy and no problem for me. But doubt if I venture into the ladies domain..Yep ! a 'chicken' ha ha
In a van park in Cairns I went to the Ladies lat at night, and heard 2 backpackers in the same shower cubicle in the Ladies bathroom. I didn't think to much of it considering the hour of the night. A chance to share a shower for the travellers. Last Christmas at Maraboon c/Pk I became confused and accidentally went into the first toilet door. It happened to be the boys. I only realised it when I exited out the other door. Oops, urinal. I felt a bit silly but no one was there to notice. To be fair, some couples like to shower together. Surely you're not too old to recall those moments way back when. When travelling it's hard to get that oppotunity unless you have an ensuite or a self-contained amenity which seems to be the new trend in some parks. Who is more embarrassed? You for learning of the shower sharing? Do you think they'd be embarrassed if they knew you knew? The door is shut, and what happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors including 2 behinds.
