The master of ambiguity is our PM. One must hear between the lines and the words to understand what she's NOT saying. This is not a political comment, it's an observation of evasive language. Oh, to be sexually correct she's the mistress of ambiguity, but in these days of sexual (political) correctness we have to pick our words carefully. Commas have been overlooked because the use of which was too hard to teach, so they gave up teaching the correct use of the comma. It's a bit like using a keyboard and being able to type. Very different skills with the same gadget. I can type, but I'm only just a little bit computer literate. The difference between a hairdresser and a barber is splitting hairs. (Sorry) I couldn't help myself.

My pet hate is swimmers that go on about going to KA or LA to do a PB, sound like thy need to head to a Dr I don't know how that are going to manage to shorten London two letters
I've so enjoyed reading this thread, there are so many pedantic people here! And I used to be one of them, but alas I now have days when I'm glad if I can string a sentence together so that I can be understood. On behalf of all such people, and those who dont spell well or do typo's, I beg your indulgence?

Gerty, I am not at all pedantic here on the forum and don't mind how it is written (presuming I can understand it) but I do feel that when it is incorrecty written/spelled in books, papers, documents, signs etc....especially the ones we pay for or those presented on one's behalf.....then it should be mistake free. Bring back the art of proof reading....please.
BTW....no need to beg my indulgence.....no need to beg anything, especially from me. We all make Typos....everyone one of us.
