I just uploaded two pix in this thread from my PC, using automatic file resize programme called "shrinkpic"

You can find the free download just by googling the name..

try it if you like and let's know if you need help

These two photos were both around 4mb before uploading.

We met a couple (who I told what a great place this is to chat and learn) in a little place called Congo, who loaned us a coulple of Kayaks. we took them for mile up the river for miles and loved the "Hobbie"(brand name) so much we couldn't wait to find an outlet to purchase our own. We did this in Sale and took them to Tassie we then put them in the water every chance we got but the most memorable was kayaking around Dove lake. We got there at 8am drove up to the boom gate and just as the info lady on the boat (spirit) said they opened and we drove right into the lake and launched, had the whole place to ourselves literally as no one else took to the water. When I can work out how to make my photo's smaller I will post some. If you are on this forum thanks a bunch for lending us your Kayaks.smilesmilesmile

Hey, we saw a couple of kayakers in Dove Lake when we strolled around it in Feb. Would it have been you? We were there on 17th, maybe 18th Feb.

Wouldnt mind having a go at that myself.

A mate just picked up a pair of Hobies.

Had a go on one on our last Redclaw trip.  Pedals well, about as fast as I can go putting in the big ones on my Viking fisherman, but with a lot less effort.

The short waterline makes it a bit less than optimum for paddling but still goes ok under paddle.  They pedal so well I don't think you would paddle too often.

I would love one to go with my pair of SOT Vikings ... maybe one for SWMBO?

But then a Ocean Sink kayak to get round Moreton Bay would be great too.

FR shrinkpic is not really free, they want your email address, but the program looks good, although I have not be able to download it, don't want to give my email address out for this sort of program.

However here is a free one, I've been using for years

Geoff n Jen So glad you enjoyed your Hobies. We have a 2 seater Mirage Outfitter Hobie and love it. Took it on our trip around Aus. Best experiences were Lawn Hill gorge and Gregory River. We purchased ours from Geelong. Glenda

Love our kayaks, we've had them a little more than a year, hubby has a Hobie rev mirage with pedals for fishing (leaves the hands free) I have an Ocean Venus.  I am just not a water (meaning ocean, beach, lake etc) person, its an old joke but I get sea sick walking across wet grass but I just love my Venus, being a bit of a coward I go early mornings when its mostly calm and quiet....very relaxing, I'm in my own little world!

We make ourselves paddle as well as the main idea for us is an an upper and lower body workout while having max fun, we got the hobie outbacks - caught dinner a couple of times too. We live near inskip and Noosa so lots of places to use them when not travelling not to mention on our river come lake hear in Gympie :-0
