hello Tiger5, We drove south and passed Bendemeer (camps 165) and then drove on to Moonbi (camps 166) and we decided Bendemeer was for us so drove back. Bendemeer has a lovely open grassed area alongside a meandering stream. lovely, grassy, and homey. lots of others there which made the stay memorable.when we had a look at Moonbi we were the only van there. rocket n strop

As a local I am not aware of camping at Moonbi lookout. Rocket is correct, Bendemeer is a great spot to stay. Another nice spot is Caffey Dam at Bowling Alley Point. From there is a nice trip up to Nundle . Sorry that should be Chaffey dam. Having trouble typing on this tablet.
Yes Moonbi is a free camp in the camp 6 book ...I have seen camper,s usually moter homes when i been there ....There are loos and from memory maybe a bbq but not 100% sure nice view from the lookout itself .. very cold in winter ...But i would go to Bendemeer it a nicer flater spot ....... And as kantki said chaffey Dam is great
