Hi All I have been veiwing all the posts for a little while now and got so excited I just had to register. We are two potenial nomads just starting to gather info to make a plan to travel round Oz. The information and advice I have found here is exceptional and a credit to all who post. We hope to get a rig that can carry his beloved Harley, so it could be a Van with a back door or a Gooseneck horse trailer with accomodation or a toy hauler. So much to look into yet. The plan is to do some work, do some free camping, lots of fishing, and touring points of interest on the harley. Sounds like heaven on a stick to me. We are both 59 and still working so it could be a while before we head off, but I will be well armed with all your tips, clues hints and advice by the time we leave.

Affectionately known as

Diamond and Grimey

I just typed in Grey Nomads and it was the first site that came up so I went in and started reading. I have looked at the other sites and they are quite good but I like this one. I will however continue to check out the others as it is very interesting reading... Oh and thanks for the welcome.. Im still learning how to use all the buttons...

Welcome Diamond and Grimey.
Both of you still working gives you an opportunity to hire a rig and take a short holiday to test-drive various types of motor-home/caravan/campertrailer/whatever. will be interested to hear your progress while you make the big decision.

Welcome aboard folks.. we all get real social and practical benefits from this great site.

You might find the following website interesting as well...

Welcome from us, we are newbies too. We've had alot of fun here already. 10 Years ago we purchased a van and set off on the big lap for two years without the benefit of forums like this....we had the best two years of our life so with the benefit of advice, assistance and humour from all the lovely grey nomads here and a bit of time for planning etc I just know you will have a great experience when you do start your adventure!

Welcone Diamond and Grimey, this is a wonderful site with many friendly people. You must be excited about planning your trip, we completed a 12 month lap last year and would do it in a blink again. You will love it. Cheers Glenda

Morning all, thank you for all your warm welcomes. I can see there are some very clever, witty and cheeky posters here, awesome just makes life all the more interesting. It would take more than"Wombat" to scare me off..I heard a little ditty about what "Wombat" stands for, but might wait till I know you all better ...

cheeky posters, that must be Vic, and yes I know what wombat means, is this the one you know?
