Just wondering if anyone has been to Normal Park near Bundaberg. Have just put it on our stopping list o n our trip. Its $10a per night Would like to know what it is like
Cheers Mandy &Wayne
Have been to Norval Park a few times, it's not far from me. there are 10 camp spots, restricted to tents and camper trailers. Last time there it was $5.50 per person per night.
There are flush toilets and water (not fit for drinking), l spoke to the council worker when he was filling the supply tank and said the water is drawn from an untreated source.
There is also free camping along a track where you can take a caravan/mtorhome. The first 100 yards or so are usually ok for 2wd but after that would suggest 4wd. My sister and b-in-law often go there with 16' van towed by 4wd. Can camp right on beach front.
There is about 13klm of well graded dirt/gravel road leading to Norval park but no trouble for any vehicle.
Thank you for that Jack Mac. I was speaking to someone at the Bundaberg council and she was saying that where people are free camping is private property and they are going to start fining people for camping there. I think we will pay the camping fees. It looks a lovely place. Plan on being there about the first week in May. Thanks
Mandy & Wayne.
The camp ground is quite nice if, as I say you have an acceptable set up.
I believe the Council has been talking about this fining business for some time. It is, as they say private property and haven't heard that the owners are closing it off.
Just an aside, if you're going to be this way in May there is a GN meet just south of Gympie starting on May 14. See Get Togethers, SE Qld winter meet.
