Hi guys. Never heard of a Bailey. Can't help, but I'm sure someone can.

Have noticed them being advertised in the caravan mags and there is one listed as a prize for the Deaf Foundation raffle.

The body sounds a bit like the A'van construction with the walls made out of a panel with polystyrene between the outeraluminium and the inner skin.

Bailey. One of, if not, the largest manufacturer of caravans in the UK.

Very well respected, they have a development and testing programme that would be the envy of every caravan manufacturer in Australia and a lot of those abroad.

If you Google "Bailey Caravans" you will get a look at the UK site and the Australian site. The U Tube of them making and testing their vans is very interesting.

Tha Australian vans have been modified to comply with Australian standards and things like a water tank have been added.

Bailey are trying to break into the Australian market and in my opinion are offering vans of high quality at a very reasonable price.

We have a german Geist, which is of similiar construction, weight, etc. Have had it for six years and done countless trips from Tasmania to Queensland, etc. These lighter vans with independant torsion suspension and anti-sway hitch tow brilliantly.

The interiors, are modern, light and practical. Despite the people who have never had one saying. "The windows are too big for Australian conditions, the vans will get too hot." They are wrong, the vans are insulated to withstand the extreme cold of Europe and therefore they can withstand our hot weather. The windows are double glazed.

Without hesitation I would buy another European or Uk caravan.

Bailey would be on the top of my list.

thanks Dusty. Hopefully they will be at the next caravan show in brisbane so we can have a look. Using an ordinary car instead of having to buy a 4wdrive sounds worth the look. rocket n strop
