Norval Park....Help

We plan on staying at Norval Park at the end of April. Very confused about camping arrangements. Was told that you could only camp at council camp ground and camping anywhere else was on private property and rangers were fining people for bush camping. Bought a 4wd camping magazine today and its got an article about the free camping at Norval Park. Would love to know whats going on. I know the council campground is only for tents etc. Mandy &Wayne.

I went for a drive to Norval park yesterday. The 6klms of dirt road is a bit cut up after the rain but still very usable, (when I say cut up it's just not quite as smooth a dirt/gravel road as usual) just drop down to about 60 k's or so, also been a lot of traffic on it over Easter.

The free camping was still being used and there were an awful lot of people using it. A lot of locals from Bundy region use it over Easter. At this stage i can't see a problem accessing this area. (Don't quote me)

If you have a campertrailer/tent type setup then I would book one of the council sites just to be sure.

If you have a larger rig and find the free camping inaccessible for whatever reason, I believe there is now an overnight stop at Yandaran which you have to go through to get to Norval Park.  It is about 13 klms from Norval park.  Failing that when you get to Yandaran turn right instead of left over the railway line and that will take you to Miara which has a caravan park, but unfortunately doesn't allow pets if you have any with you. It is about the same distance to Miara as Norval park and from memory (haven't been there for a while) is sealed all the way albeit very narrow in places.

Norval Park is a really nice spot and even in the council sites only metres to the beach.

I posted a couple of pics on your previous query.

Cheers,

jack
