Google Badgers Caravan Park Reports. This site collates reports from travellers, so is usually pretty up to date and useful. If you navigate around the site to look at individual parks, you will find that there is also a link to a site that focusses on pet friendly parks.
It can also be worthwhile googling possible caravan parks as their web site sometimes gives different advice to what is "officially" listed in guides.

If you have not towed before, you are well advised to do a towing course, regardless of cost.

There is a book out Kaid. You can get it from any bookstore. I think from memory it is called Travelling with Dogs.

I haven't found "travelling with dogs" very useful.

We tend to use the Camps 6 much better, or even caravan Parks Australia Wide.

We did the Tow-ed course and it was about $3 to 4 hundred, but it is per car, therefore 2 of us did it for the same price, which made it quite OK in my book.

did the towing course, not with RACQ buta private fellow just south of Gympie. Worth every cent.

Kurramine Beach council park takes dogs and its a really nice park, last year we spent 4 months there and met people who have been comming there for the last 15 years.Its right on the beach and the dogs are allowed on the beach.

Thanks to all for your replies. I had a look at the Badgers Caravan Park Reports and found it to be a great site. With regards to the towing course am unable to do it tomorrow due to prior committments. The next few are booked solid. But have some terrific of offers of help from some great friends who have vans. Will just go quietly with them until we can get into one.

McArthur River Caravan Park

As for the $500, that is probably a lot cheaper than dealing with the result of an accident. I have seen the aftermath of a few caravan accidents... not a pretty sight.

PS. There used to be crocs in the McArthur River but they were chased out by the barramundi. Happy fishing!
