we will be going to SCONE in the next two weeks and we are thinking off going via the putty road from Windsor to singleton towing a van
any thought about it?
cheers
We came back to karuah from Mudgee using the Putty Road.No probs at all and I must say that there were numerous caravans going both ways.Just take it easy and respect the Putty.Motorbikes make it interesting if you like bike racing.Lol. Forgot to say that it was today we used the road.

Hi. we always prefer to travel the Putty Rd, when travelling north from our place. Easy as. Bit windy in parts but just take your time and enjoy the scenery. Theres a new 48hr. free camp half way between Windsor and Singleton thats worth stopping at for a stay or a cuppa. Theres some posts in the free/budget section about it. Johnw

I have a windsor royal and tow with a patrol and I been using the putty for 48 years and its a great road to what it was when my dad taught me drive in his old prefect.
We travelled Putty road about 5 weeks ago with a 22 ft van and had no hassles at all. By the way don't forget to stop at the Grey Gums cafe. It' s about half way along the road. Great place to stay the night if you like. Enjoy the journey
