I met a woman yesterday who had sold everything up. Bought a mazda busto full fill her dream of travelling........she hated it and in 3 months had bought another house and stopped all but for short 2 week forays.
Now me on the other hand who ratherrushed in owing to9 high rent and neighbor problems have taken to this life with ease and confidence
It can be hard to know, in advance, how one will take to the nomadic lifestyle. I wonder if she had done any previous travel at all? Do you know which aspects in particular she hated? Personally, I think you are on the right track. After all, she won't get to see much variety with only 2 week forays from her new home base.
I guess the roads would be pretty busy and camp sites impossible to find if everyone thought the same and headed off down the road on an endless adventure.............I guess it would make real estate a lot cheaper though if no one wanted it
Some of the 5 star tourists see their annual trip to some nice resort as a great "lifestyle", then set out with a glitzy motorhome to live this life. There's a huge difference between living it full time and doing the annual jaunt to a selected destination, sit around, look around, and turn aroun to go home again all refreshed, with a new hair do, fresh nails with pictures on them, all pedicured. Even tripping between caravan parks and sightseeing along the way once a year won't give a clear demonstration of this full time nomadic lifestyle. I don't know if it's the fact that the meals still have to be cooked, the washing still has to be done, the "house" still has to be cleaned, windows washed etc that brings them down to reality or what, but come down they do. I have a feeling nomads are born, not invented.

I agree with you dogbox, at least this lady tried the lifestyle and did not like it for whatever reasons. Better she tried than sit around with regrets and the if only's.
