Flame Robins

It is always wonderful to see the families of resident Flame Robins return from their summer migrationto the mountains. It always heralds the beginning of the cooler months.

Gary took the photo in my avatar this morning just behind our house.

You must have some native brush to offer them protection for the winter months. I haven't seen any for a while.

Yes Johnq we do have box iron bark forests around us but the flame robin tends to prefer to open paddocks in winter and the forests in summer. We often have at least 10 sitting on the paddock fences. A beautiful sight on a sunny morning. Glenda

Just had a local friend that mentioned that they often call the Flame Robin the Anzac Robin as they return at this time of the year. What a wonderful thought. Glenda
