Over the past week I have had several emails, PMs and phone messages asking if I was OK because the updates have not been posted regularly as previously, the truth is that I have not been able to gain internet access and have had to prepare posts ready for the uploading and even then I have had problems in Port Hedland and Broome getting on line. From now on it will only get worse with Derby the next destination and after that ????? so I will prepare posts daily as usual but don't expect to see them until I can gain good internet access. Today I am waiting for Steven to hitch from Karratha and we will spend another day here in Broome before setting off again, The broad plan is to go to Derby and take the Gibb River Road until Windgana Gorge and down to Tunnel creek and the Great Northern Highway to Kununarra. Can't see a lot of chance to post during that trip but we will see.
Check the blog it will be my first point of contact.
A bit of useless trivia but I have trimmed the hair down to a number 3 and shaved off the mustache and beard again, bought a hat and polaroid sunglasses. Living the good life and loving it!!!!!!!!!!!
When we travelled up that area, we went to places called telecentres, if I remember rightly and got access to the net for very little $$$........about 2 from memory.
I went back to your very first post yesterday John and I must say you look so much healthier and fitter now. The nomadic lifestyle obviously agrees with you.
Still in Broome, Steven arrived at the campsite last night at 10pm after having hitched from Karratha, he hadn't seen Broome so we are spendiBg the day here and setting off later aiming for a campsite 74kms past the Broome turnoff
Thanks for the encouraging comments. I am fortunate to be so fit and healthy at 75yrs young.
That's a nice parking spot. Might be tawny frogmouths or brush tail possums and dingos out there. Did you go to the Court House Markets on the weekend? I left Broome in 2007 after 11 years, and I still miss it. Where are you heading next?
