Newbe wanna be soon to be Nomad

Hi all,

Just  want  to introduce myself..

Am Ron, 44 on DSP from Port macquarie, the plan is as soon as i make the money required is to buy a motor home and hit the road..

Can anyone give me any ideas as to what i should be buying, have looked as a few online, like a 84 model Mazda T3500, most preferable my motor home  must have solar power, and good batteries to be  able to run a laptop & hot water, reasonble large fridge, double bed, clean water storage an internal shower is not  that important, as i can easily shower outside..

my intitial price range is like $20k or so..

I dont  want something  to big, it needs to be able to drive & park like a car, i dont want the hassle  of parking when i go shopping  etc..

What do people use for prepaid internet..?

Am a hefty gigabyte user, so i'm looking  at around 75 gigs a month..

Have looked at Dodo prepaid, the hourly plan looks like it might suit my needs..

When buying a camper, how does one realy know what a motor home is realy worth..?

Like for eg: one 84 model Mazda T3500 i have looked at is going for $23k odd, is it worth this much..?

Your feedback will be very much appreciated!

Ron

Hi Ron and welcome from me, enjoy here and out there.

Bigpond is the only way to go as they have the best coverage and I'm sure you will find a plan to suit your needs. Also the Telstra Mobile phones with the "Blue Tick" are good too.

As a bus driver although they are the big ones I have had experience with the T3500 and also the Toyota Coaster. Out of the two I would go for a Coaster anytime. Have a look around for the short wheel base if you don't want too big, having said that though the long wheel base is not that much longer so I would prefer that if it were me.

All this will depend on whether or not i make any $$ from my investments, i have been promised like $60k every 3 months of an investment of just $3k, this is not my only investment, but it will be the biggest payer...

Strange story about the investment.

All this will depend on whether or not i make any $$ from my investments, i have been promised like $60k every 3 months of an investment of just $3k, this is not my only investment, but it will be the biggest payer...

I reckon you have to invest 3 million to get 60 K every three monts, that is 240.000 dollar per year, 8% return.

If it seems too good to be true it probably is.
