chip

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if they have had a chip put in their 4x4? If so what was the result ? Also where did they get it from and how much?We have seen one advirtised in the Uk and with postage works out about $700,was hoping if we could get one cheaper here in Aus.

Hi Jilly,

Further down this page Techie's corner there is a thread about exhausts.

If you read the comments it appears that the company DC Chips in Australia are the main company here and one of the guys had a DC chip fitted to his 4x4 and seemed happy. He wanted to know if adding a larger exhaust would help and one of the GN family 'Mccanic' a motor engineer gave advice.

Looks like DC chips would be well worth a look. They are in Australia and as such warranties etc would be better than from some Company abroad.

I would reckon a Google search for DC chips might be a worthwhile exercise.

Cheers

Trevor

I have no hands on experience with diesel chips but I do know one of the principals of Diesel Care, (the Steinbauer chip supplier), and have done so for over 30 years. I know him to be a "straight shooter" and on this basis would have no hesitation in suggesting the inclusion of Diesel Care (http://www.dieselcare.com.au/) in your inquiries.

Hi Jilly888, You didnt say what 4x4 you have, We have Disco and the chipping for that is around 450-500 @ Trumph rover spares in SA. It realy is worth the trouble to have one installed..
I understand DC Chip is around 1500 ?

Yes its because they do hurndreds and it works, they ARE the best chipping in Aust. for LandRovers, You will have to send your ECU to them, If it was me I would drive over there and have the work done.( ask for Danny) well worth the trouble..If you post it to them you will need a Naocom to refit it to the Disco when you get it back, or a Hawk eye.
Bob n Bev( you can barter with them, shhh)with cash.

Hi Jilly

Check out this site. http://www.advancedhho.com/product-p/fsfc001.htm

I purchase one and use it in my Cruiser 100 series. No big tech installation just simply plug and use. You can remove it anytime. For the price I wouldnt be wothout it. It pays for itself in the first few tanks.

Cheers
