campervan storage in Darwin

Hi all,

recently I went to Bali from Perth and was fortunate to be able to leave my Hi Ace at a forum members house.

I am planning to return to Bali for a month from Darwin next week and am looking for an economic storage option.

I have no contacts in Darwin and will be arriving tomorrow looking for an economical caravan park and also a rcommended mechanic to service the van.

Would be happy to meet up with any forum members currently in Darwin.

John

The words 'economic' and 'Darwin' don't often occur in the same sentence I'm afraid.

Yes I am finding that out now that I am in Darwin.

Not only was the van expensive to store the air price has risen too so have decided not to go after all.

Will be setting off for Kakadu on Sunday,

John

Some fellow former GN's are also in Darwin right now.
If you need some mechanical work done on the old girl maybe you could leave it with the mechanic so the work can be done, and then you can pick it up from there when you return. Worth asking.

Hi CG,

there is no specific problem with the van now that the work was done in Batchelor. Just time for the next service but it can wait till I get back to the Gold Coast, the way I have been travelling lately that may not be too far away.

Will set off before the mechanics re open, tried this morning but as in WA they don't want to work on Saturdays.

That was always my plan too John, fly to Bali from Darwin storing the van somewhere.
I know in Echuca they have boat storage sheds like the furniture or personal belongings storage sheds you see everywhere. Wondered if a van could be stored in something similiar while away overseas.
