Caravan Park enquiries

Hi All,

During my about 2 B travels, sometimes I will be staying in caravan parks. Have emailed two-of requesting information, now that was five days ago and nothing?

Should I not have mentioned Grey Nomad or height and width of me-self; what did do wrong?

Is this normal?

NO, not the height and width..

Colin

We generally use email to book caravan parks, however it isn't infrequent that we get no response. Probably happens maybe 1 in 5 times. Sometimes we'll get an email a week or so later saying the one we sent was undeliverable, don't know why it should take so long. Anyway, if you haven't heard back within a day or two then you'll have to phone them I'm afraid. The other issue with email is that sometimes they want you send you bank details so they can take a deposit for the booking, we never do this and will ring them instead if they say need a deposit.

I use the good ol'fashion telephone to make caravan park reservations. I have used email from time to time to make initial inquiries however. If doing so I find it better to use a normal email rather than the email facility that some businesses have as part of their website.

I never use the on-line booking form that some parks have on their website to make a firm reservation.

I endorse Nicholstones' comment about emailing banking details.

I prefer to ring the park and speak with them, that way I know it's done. I understand this might not always be possible though.

Some of them are so scared to tell you the price in case you fall over..They'd rather you turned up at the  enterance then rip you off because they figure you'd be too tired to turn away..And thats from a Person who worked at one in Palm Beach Qld

I've never had a problem emailing a van park for details and bookings. If they don't get back to me the decision is made.
They don't want me or my money. So I find one which will.

Might have something to do with 3 of those days are holidays and they have casual staff in.
Try ringing them, I find that more effective.
