Its really windy all the way down the coast cannylass, even here at Biggenden high winds and black clouds. Was going for a drive into Bundaberg but waiting for the wind to die down.

I love the valiant in your picture.   I used to have a CM, great engine, grunty and comfortable.  Mine wasn't so 'straight' as yours.

Hi Keith 19837 & Cannyless.  Although I watch the forum, I don't post to often, however I just had to wave the flag for Darwin.

Long way to get here, but the weather is just sensational. First day of winter tomorrow and around 28 degrees and sunny today. Spoke to our son in Cairns last night, and it's peeeeeeeeing down, and quite cool for Cairns.

Do your homework before coming Cannyless. The parks are way out of town and bloody expensive. We are staying at a retreat in Berry Srings, however a round trip into Darwin of about 150kms.

Yeah Keith the old Val just purrs along. After 34 years can't let it go!!!!

Check out our travel blog http://theretroroamers.blogspot.com and you will see various photos of the beast.

A'h well, back to the pool, and get the sun on the buns.

CYA

G'day  Canyless

We are actually just around the corner from Tumbling Waters on a private property. We are moving tomorrow just up the road to another venue. Where ever possible we seek out properties away from your standard CP.biggrinbiggrin

Coolinga is the closet shopping centre which is 42kms from our present location. Palmerston is another 13kms further to Darwin.blankstareblankstare

Been into Darwin a couple of times and done the touristy things, and unfortunately lost a lot of photos. May go back up to do the Mindil Markets and the waterfront again, before we leave. One thing that is on the agenda is Litchfield NP. Possibly do that next week. All reports I am getting from Kakadu is Kakadont.confuseconfuseconfuse

Went to the Territory Wildlife Park yesterday. The NT Government should be ashamed of even asking anybody to pay to go into basically bushland, with very little to see or do. Actually I saw the other day someone has hung a sign underneath their sign "Crapp"evileyeevileyeevileye

O'h well ,the weather is great, so we will enjoy the moment.smilesmile

Cheers & beers

Thanks so much for the weather info, I'm just packing now. It's hard to imagine what you will need going that far north when the fog is slowly lifting off the hills with the sun shining through aNd about 8 degrees.
