Camps australia book

We have a tent style camper trailer and so far we have stayed in caravan parks in largish towns. We do not have our own ensuite facilities and need a power supply to run the engel fridge. My question is: Does the camps book include places that provide amenities and power?

I don't have the Camps 6 only the 4, but I think they do have some of the cheaper parks included with power and amenities. I'm waiting for the Camps 7 next year.

There is a number of online sites that showcase the caravan parks very well.

We have camps 5 . They have the cheaper CPs in there . Like under $25 / night , or thereabouts I think .

Camps Australia Wide (Camps 6 publisher) also does a similar Caravan Park book. Whilst not free it has all the parks, not just the ones that pay for an entry like in some other guides.

I have Camps 6 and it has the $ sign if there's a fee and a $+ if it's a bit pricier.

I don't know about other states, but if you're a member of RACQ (QLD) you can buy their annual book of CP's at very minimal cost.

Yep, all states. Ours was free, and its much better than the previous edition which only listed places that paid to be in it.

It used to be free here to Rosie,,,I think it's only $3 or thereabouts.

The NRMA book is $10 to members - used to be free. And so often it's not always right. So hard to keep them updated when $ figures are mentioned.

Thanks for answering my question. I might get one of each book down the track when we have more travel time.

I got the RACQ one last year and it was still free then....well it was free to a Gold Card member, maybe that has some impact.

I have a gold card now, but probably a silver the last time I got one.

Don't miss trying Free-camping, you don't need flash expensive gear to do it.

Your Engel wil run happily (as a fridge) from your good condition car battery overnight.  For longer stays without running the car you could invest in a small solar set-up, 80w or so feeding a separate battery.

A shower tent with a small pump & shower rose will give change from $100 and a small Porta-pottie completes the abalution needs.

Consider you will save $20 - $50 per night not in a caravan pk you will soon pay for these ammenities.

The added bonus is you get to meet people, they are not all huddled under the air-con watching tv as most do in van parks.

Cheers Neil

Many free camps actually have toilets and a lot also have showers so you could plan your journey to take advantage of these.
