We have a tent style camper trailer and so far we have stayed in caravan parks in largish towns.
We do not have our own ensuite facilities and need a power supply to run the engel fridge.
My question is:
Does the camps book include places that provide amenities and power?
I don't have the Camps 6 only the 4, but I think they do have some of the cheaper parks included with power and amenities. I'm waiting for the Camps 7 next year.
There is a number of online sites that showcase the caravan parks very well.
Camps Australia Wide (Camps 6 publisher) also does a similar Caravan Park book. Whilst not free it has all the parks, not just the ones that pay for an entry like in some other guides.
Don't miss trying Free-camping, you don't need flash expensive gear to do it.
Your Engel wil run happily (as a fridge) from your good condition car battery overnight. For longer stays without running the car you could invest in a small solar set-up, 80w or so feeding a separate battery.
A shower tent with a small pump & shower rose will give change from $100 and a small Porta-pottie completes the abalution needs.
Consider you will save $20 - $50 per night not in a caravan pk you will soon pay for these ammenities.
The added bonus is you get to meet people, they are not all huddled under the air-con watching tv as most do in van parks.
Cheers Neil
