Lignum creek NSW

This is a great spot......no facilities tho

This morning there was a flock of pelicans over on the lagoon next to the roadworks sight.

At some stage the roadworks people have made the creek wider and deeper in that area.

Emus walking past and a fox coming in the evening on top of this places to walk as well.

Seen evidence of yabbies too......also roo tracks but haven't spotted any.

cold today inside spinning wool.

I looked in my paper map, it wasn't mentioned.

I've also been through my Camps 5 book NSW section, page by page. No mention of it there either.

Maybe one for the Free/budget campsites sub forum?

Also where in NSW is Lignum Creek??? It's handy to give some information on the location when recommending campsites.

You must like the cold Dawa. I know it gets fairly icy down that way at this time of the year. Froze my toes last year when I stayed overnight in Wyalong.

Gday...

Aw go on ..... share the good spot biggrin

Google doesn't help ... the only two coming up are between Jerilderie and Deniliquin or about 50km NE of Wilcannia. It would appear neither of these are "near West Wyalong".

I will be passing through Deniliquin soon ... and if there is a good place within cooee to camp, would love to check it out.

So, go on ... share where it is please biggrin

Cheers - John

I have a feeling Dawa likes the solitude of her own company John, If she doesn't give too much away no one can sneak up on her. lol

Gday...

No problem ... I am not lookin for company either - I find my own company the best - although I still annoy myself from time to time biggrin.

If its due to the solitude that's no problem either dawa, when ya leave there please put the directions for the good campsite up for the rest of us biggrin

Cheers - John

I saw photos on her blog, it looks a great place but still unable to work out how to find it. You won't meet other nomads if they can't find you.

Gday...

It is rare to have a camp to oneself completely therefore I do get the opportunity to interact with other like souls ... but then again, like dawa it would seem, solitude has its virtues.biggrin

Cheers - John

well all i can tell you is i left Grenfell on the Forbes road checking out camps oz sites as i went.......they were not good....then i came across this place
a new bridge has been built and there is a piece of old causway leftsomeone was here before as there was small fire-place.
not well used but definate signs of campers here
is a truly beatiful spot

I nearly always have the camp to myself......but then i look for my own spots as so far the ones i have seen in camps oz aren't much or they are 3 days only.

good place not far from Deni is Toocumwal.   On the Vic side; finley beach or about a couple ks further on Greively beach....have stayed at both.

no conveniences....no water (river)but wood for cook fires.

saw koalas in the trees at both places.

fishing is good and crayfish too.

I don't mind company just not too many people at once.

Is this the spot? -31.27766, 144.02982

Where is the bridge? Is it across the Darling River?

Enjoy the solitude.
