I know Marj! I was thinking that this being a public forum, and people can be traced by their number plates... if that was to happen, and they post that they are a long way from home, their house might be in danger of being burgled.

My pride and joy

I tow my 19' Crusader van with my Hilux and couldn't be happier.  I wanted a semi-offroad van so I had it built from the ground up.  Because I seldom go anywhere where there's power to plug an air/con in, I decided not to have one and instead put the $2,000 into other additions.  A 6" chassis, light truck tyres, 4" risers on the suspension, additional checkerplate, an anderson plug, reversing camera, etc., etc.  I've been on many rough roads and even done the Darling River Run in it.  No problems whatsover during the 4 years that I have owned it.

Hi to all out there, our home is a 19'6" Ranger Mallina with all the goodies to free camp whenever and wherever we can, left Mooloolaba in November for a slow wander around. May go home one day ???? The tug is a Gu Nissan Patrol 4.8l auto with lots of off road mods.PB160067.JPGPB200071.JPG

 We toured the USA in our 1996 30 ft Airstream for 15 months and shipped it for conversion to Australia.

Complete revamp and re-engineered. Solid oak floors and cabinetry. $170,000.spent. Built of aircraft aluminum and fibre glass weighs only 6 tons.

Chevy V8 auto big block on LPG, and ULP, duel computer injection system, disc brakes all round, and tons of storage space. Duel entrance doors electric steps etc.

What we love most is the waste water tanks we store "500 liters", on the road just click on the 90 mm dump hose and pull the lever.

Great fuel economy like a medium car, drives like a fast luxury  car with overdrive, cruise control, pulls a towed all day at a 120 kph, and has all the mod cons.

We explored Alaska's far north to south, and criss crossed the USA, the Airstream never missed a beat,  we are now going to explore Oz.

Why  the Aussie built  RV's still have yucky cassette toilets is beyond belief and old hat. Technology lags miles behind, get with it local RV builders.

This "private jet"  is for sale, regretfully, we have another RV ready for private import.

Our First Van a little poptop towed by an 85 Landcruiser, just where did I fit everything kids, bikes, foldup beds, TV, Roll of carpet for the annex and the list goes on LOL. Our last van the Coromal 615 towed by a 2010 Holden Colorado both have just been traded, have the new Landcruiser in the drive all set up ready and rearing to go (as are Roxy and I) Just awaiting for the new van hopefully mid October WATCH THIS SPACE

very excited here in the Yarra Valley, we decided on our van and paid the deposit on the weekend. it is a Retreat Mabel, 21ft 6". Ex display van, and has

everything we need. It also has the east west bed and lots of cupboard space, a huge ensuite, plus toilet and washing machine. Does anyone out there

have a Retreat and if so how do you like it?

My rig a Bailey 745se. I purchased it in the UK  and travelled Europe, the UK  and Morocco for 20 months before bringing it back home. The photo was taken in the Orkney Island, Scotland.

It was about $20,000 to bring back which included freight and bringing it down to Australian standards. Total cost including bringing it back was aprox $100,000. Peugeot motor 2.2 diesel 130 bhp. 7.5 mts long and under 3500 kg . Drives like a dream. Had zero problems so far.

Newbies we are, so the adventure starts.  Came back from six weeks in the uk (mother has cancer) to a house that had sold while we were away.  Two weeks of packing and moving out. One week at our friends and the day finally arrived.  On the 13th October we pick up our home.  Parked at our friends property at Ravensbourne qld until we start our travels.

On leaving Kedron we were meant to drive back Esk way, instead that dam satnav took us through traffic up and down hills before coming out at Ipswich.  Vaughan reckons it was  baptism by fire.  It he could do this! he could take us anywhere. lol 

So getting use to living in this beautiful girl is quite a challenge.  But I am loving it.  This week we had a bushfire quite close by and as we are 15mins drive to get to the main road our options were limited. Our friends happened to be in Brisbane, so we were on our own.  So the fire plan was:  open gates to let animals out. Leave everything and make our way to the property next door, to the dam.  Take sacks and blankets to soak and to cover our heads when the smoke gets bad.    THANK Goodness the wind did not change, the thought of leaving our beautiful new home was truly scary.

Did I say earlier Baptism of fire!!!!!!!!!!!!   I'll take that back.  We are still on smoke watch.  But all looks good.  Lynn here Vaughan at work hehe.

After Xmas we will start our travels for sure.  Look forward to meeting you all, out there.  'O' any advise about satellite dish setups.

Here is my rig.
1994 Ford Econovan Winnebago Freeway.

New motor now has 7k on it and I think I have settled into this new life on the road full time now. I have added a bit of colour to him, yes he is a male mh, named "The Big Pooh"

A lady at Greens Lake this past Christmas took offense at me taking a photo of her car on the boat ramp, and was screaming at me to get a life, so I have been christened officially.

I changed from a Motorhome & Trailer after 4 years because I needed more flexibility ..

and this now suits me just fine .. my home of the last 2 years !
