Don't know what it was at your place last night but at the Mareeba Rodeo grounds it poured, 15 mm in one hour. it's a bit of a lake in some areas but at least the forecast is possible drizzled for today.

Same in Townsville, very heavy rain last night and still drizzling. Anyone coming through here be aware that Blakeys Crossing on Ingham road will be closed due to flooding.
Last night we where watching one of our favourite shows, qanda.
The suddenly, it started to rain. The noise on the caravan was so deafening that we had to turn up the volume on the TV. The harder it rained, the more the volume was turned up.
Just as sudden, the rain eased, the volume was now so loud that we nearly burst our ear drums. "Turn the volume down!" came the plaintive cry. Down it went and then of course, the rain started again in earnest.
WE now know why this caravan park and others in Qld and Northern NSW have gutters that you practically need 4wd to cross.
4 inches here, last night, and is still raining. One of the biggest winter rain events in my memory, and i have been on Magnetic island for 35 years!Had to cancel a morning fishing trip, but got a nice 10kg golden trevally, yesterday. Come to sunny Qld. Bill
Poured all night at Macrossan Park (near Charlie's Trousers) - for the uninitiated that's Charters Towers. Toilets are now blocked up so we left this morning. Now in Charters Towers & it's still pouring. Where's the blue sky that's supposed to be here in the winter months??
hi all, we are in yeppoon and it,s wet, wet, wet, does,nt look too bright for the next few days, the van park is pretty boggy. oh well, the joy,s of travelling. cheers, greyghosts
Its certainly not what I expected up here. Was looking forward to blue skies, hot sun, beautiful day to get out there and have fun, not sititng inside watching TV.
Raining in Mackay, damp heading up to Townsville and just started raining at Crystal Creek - AND I had portable solar installed on Tuesday so havent even unpacked it yet . Murphys law!

About 5-6 mls at Wallaroo last night, and about the same at Edithburgh on Monday night. Everywhere looks pretty "damp" here, and the crops are lush and flourishing. I hope the season ends as it's begun. Someone should tell the Rain man that it's the WET SEASON north of the Tropic of Capricorn. What are you doing up there you Nomads? Come on. Get the word out. "Dry Season".. Come on, you can say it. Good luck with that.
