I didn't let the bad weather beat me

so took Me, Myself and I off on a river cruise on board the P.S.Melbourne at Mildura and what a great way to spend a couple of hours. Very good non scripted commentary and at one stage went down in the world but on the return trip went up in the world via Loch 11, fascinating how those lochs work.

The Murray is so big in these parts and so beautiful, I really like this area.

Over all I enjoyed the experience and forgot about the miserable weather.

The three of us (Me,Myself and I) are going to Renmark tomorrow so about to enter un-chartered lands, for me anyway.

What is the water level like in the Murray Doug? There's been so much flooding in the last few years, is it still up or has it receded again?

Hi Nicholstones, yes it is up, in fact when we got to Apex Park the Captain mentioned that there is not much beach at the moment due to the river being up. It sure looks healthier here in Mildura than when I was in Echuca in May and I'll tell you that for free. It's great, I havn't seen the Murray so high for years.

Speaking of Apex Park, what a great looking CV Park there. I went and checked it out in the Afternoon, very nice on the river front sites.

Glad your enjoying it, the weather cannot be as bad as down here ??? could it, your nights might have been cold, but what about the days ??

That whole riverina area is really good, I go to Midura a lot and Always find something new to see or do,  Are you doing a slow trip home now ??

You must make a point of going back up that way when it's warmer weather, you only Like it now . You will Love it then ??

I grew up in Mildura and remember the river flooding every year, Apex Park and Baronga Caravan parks were always untder water and Loch 11 open.

The Murray has a certain charm that permeates the your soul. A wonderful old lady, so pleased to see her in better health these days.

Glad to hear the three of you are having such a good time Doug.  Can't wait to get down that way and see the mighty Murray.  Travel safe!

Cheers!

Hi Doug, Alan and I were in Baronga CP yesterday too, in fact we went over to the island in the afternoon and watched the Melbourne go through the loch. Great to see. Couldn't get over all the pelicans waiting downstream of the weir for the fish to come over. We are in Waikerie CP tonight - very roomy. Brenda
