Hi You can get water purifacation tablets any good camping supply store .

I think one tablet does 4lts of water. cheers rokerbiggrin

We use a Berkey purifier for all our drinking water for three years. We use the same one at home . Regards Orid

The ancient Greeks and Romans purified water with wine. 50% water and 50% wine.

Is it any wonder that the Greeks gave wine it's very own god.

Like I said earlier just bleach. But the unscented version. Milton tablets are just bleach in a convenient form. Do the directions include for drinking water?

Napisan could be used too. The active ingredient is Sodium Percarbonate is used to clean the beer plumbing in pubs. It not only sanitises but removes any film/gunk in the pipes. Something chlorine may not do. Problem then will be the need to thoroughly flush/rinse the tanks.

Yep. Cheap and effective.

Rather than "clean" the tanks or containers, just ensure that there is always chlorine in the water. Keeps the container clean and the water safe. That is how 99.9% of drinking water in the world is treated. Do it regularly as the chlorine dissapears in a couple of days and the  bugs can then grow again.
