Hi Spida, we are still here. We are in the North Eastern corner. Got the Aussie flag flying and there will be two sola panels about as well. We leave on on Wed morning. Give me an idea of where you are and we will try and find you. It's a bit like the needle and haystack thing.

Well - now I dont know what to do. Was absolutely amazed at the number of nomads at the rodeo grounds and at Rocky Creek.
HOW ON Earth do I get to find another nomad?????? I walked around the rodeo grounds for a while and decided that finding Briche's Roadstar would be a fluke for a start
Will some of you still be there on Tuesday and if so how do I find you. Maybe I need to drag out my NZ flag and hoist it. Will any nomads be at Rocky Creek on Monday? Am at Tinaroo until then but wont come back to the rodeo tomorrow.

You can't miss Normas (Shady & me) big yellow bus. I think she's still there, as are Jonathan, who has no internet at the moment, and Michael (Nu-one). I expect they'd be towards the back of the mob. That's where Jon was last year anyway.
IF you could see the site trying to find a yellow bus or a Grey Ribbon would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, It has to be seen to be believed the whole thing scary hope they don't have a fire , It's not for me
Would be hard to find a grey ribbon unless you are walking along the rows or what ever they have organised. But the bus should stick out like the sun in amongst white clouds. The whole bus is bright yellow. Thank goodness I am not there, I couldn't stand to be packed in like sardines.

I saw it last year. Definitely packed like sardines. I'm sure you'd spot the big bright yellow bus though.

I thought they were talking about a rodeo a long way back. Thought it must have happened. Also heard about the Xmas in July. Whose cooking?? Haha Didn't realise they were in the same place. Hope they have left room for the rodeo to take place.
Rodeo is this weekend so place is bursting at the seams, if you ask at the little shop or booking office for the rodeo grounds where Jonathon is parked they'll tell you where he is and then he'll be happy to introduce you to anyone that is still there.. hope your all having a great time, weather has fined up so they should be having a great weekend at Mareeba.
Brian what does it feel like being in there , what about things like water , toilets and showers and if in a motor home could you leave to go shopping without losing your spot , doesn't look good looking from the outside ,what feeling like from inside and would you do it again
Hi Guru, a bit on he crowed side but as we are right down in a corner we don't have that sardine feeling. Also we are right next to a water tap so that helps a bit but there are plenty of tap stations about but no permanent connections so you would need to be able to carry water to your van. Most people cope with that ok. Showers and toilets are ok but in some cases a bit of a walk. Your space would be ok as long as you leave something in there, like a couple of chairs so your spot would be there when you got back. We came as we had never been to a rodeo before so we came for the experience. Not sure if we would again but many do. Hope that helps
Regards
Brian

Thanks for that Brian so be like crowded free camping , I am pleased to have seen it first hand I don't think anybody could imaging the site it is , much to big to take a photo of , Mareeba must be the caravan and motor home capital of Australia
That would have to be a true statement. So many vans, campers, camper trailers, motor homes of all shapes and sizes. It's a bit mind blowing. Then this morning was a bit of a waiting game at the showers /toilets and I got there at 6:45 because as well all the travelers there is now all the sshow people. We will put this down to experience. We are using this as a base while we explore surrounding countryside. So there you have it, will we be back? Who knows. Trust you are enjoying yourself wherever you call home. Regards Brian
