Today we drove into Rockhampton from the west. A lot of you will know the round-about at the southern access to town. The traffic was so bad that today we crawled at 5kmh for 4 kms to get to that roundabout. Apparently it's like that most of the time now. When we left town about 3pm traffic coming into town was still crawling & backed up.
It doesn't get that bad up here as you know .. but although the Rodeo is over now, there are still heaps of vehicles here .. some stopping for a few days before the Country Music down the road .. and then there's the the Christmas in July on about the 26th ..then it might thin out for a while ..
Hi Jonathon, I think Keith has recovered from manhandling those tyres. He should be able to relax here as we have a cushy job looking after daughter's dog. She's just a little thing about ankle high. Say hi for us to all at Christmas in July. Regards Alice
We drove south out of Rocky on Tuesday and the traffic coming from the south went from the roundabout back to the turnoff to mount morgan up and over the hill on that road and about another 150 meters down the Bruce hwy and this was about 9.30 am

We were advised about this round about problem in peak hours on our trip north, so we headed into town at 8.00am from the south, no traffic & didn't even have to stop at this section.

Part of the problem with this roundabout is that it is only one lane and this does not allow traffic entering to merge with traffic already in the roundabout. Also, there are no intersections with traffic lights nearby to provide breaks in the traffic.
Any-one coming through Rocky is welcome to overnight [or a few days] at my place guys. Have posted this before. I'm between Rocky and Emu Park, [about 30 k's from Rocky, or around 25 mins. out] in a country setting.
