Last year we went to Parkes through Bogan Gate, Condoblin, Lake Cargeligo, Griffith and Hay This might be a bit out of the way but it was a pretty good trip. Good cheap caravan parks at Lake Cargelligo and Condoblin. There is a free camp about 5 k out of Griffith and a free overnighter in Griffith.

We just travelled from hay to west wyalong and the road is shocking. When we return to Mildura next week from Bathurst we are looking for an alternative to that piece of road. We are thinking going through Young and Temora to Nerandera. Does anyone have any knowledge of the condition of this road or any alternative suggestions?
There was a lot of flooding at West Wyalong, Hay, also Narrandera, earlier this year Terry, would imagine most of those roads out there had some damage on top of the ever-present pot-holes. Sorry cant help with the roads through Young and Temora though.
Last month we travelled the road from Dubbo to Nyngan to Cobar to Hillston to Hay and it was good. Good freecamp at Meadow Glen west of Cobar and Hillston CP was great too.
