Sounds ok to me Hats, if the Hilux towball is too high you might need to reverse the tow hitch (put it in the slide the other way up/down) if it is the Reece type with a slide in/slide out tongue or if still not level may have to get an adjustable tow hitch, but I doubt you would need it.

Welcome from me hats, enjoy here and out there.

I tow a Avan Camper with a Toyota Prado Gas/Petrol with no problems at all, the only thing is, I wish it was about another 2" off the ground.

If you are refering to the Avan Camper being another 2" off the ground , try underslinging the axel, I did this on my Jaco and acheived an extra 4" clearance.

I tow a 12' Jayco Sprite with a Hilux 2x4 petrol no problem. Van Gross is about 950kg and the hilux can handle 2.2 ton according to the towbar. We had to reverse the towball as well and with the WDH we have had no problems. Our ute is a single cab trayback and it needs a bit of weight in the tray, so we carry most bits and pieces in there as the van doesn't have a front boot and it works out well.

Happy camping in the Jayco.biggrin

Sorry my post was a bit misleading, I tow a 15 foot Jayco Songbird with a Falcon wagon, not a Jayco Camper Trailer.

Thanks for that JRH I'll look into that option.
