Road conditions

Hi all, Just some general info on some road conditions, we have just travelled from Adels Grove (Lawn Hill) to Bouila & then to Winton(we are here for then night) roads are in very good conditions, very dry & dusty, weather is just great (28c) lots of travelers on the road, but we have always found a place to camp up over night, had to stay in a C.P in the Isa with an on suit(all we could get) was $35 other than that most places are easy to park for Free camps The road from Boulia to Winton was very good, & the country side was just fantastic, Wedge Tails everywhere, just spectacular. Hope that might help some on the road Cheers Miroku 12g

That's good to hear. I also saw a lot of Wedge tails on my trip to and from the Pilbara. We went up the Goldfields Highway and down the Great northern highway. Of course some get caught up and killed in their efforts to dominate the kill. Oh, so grand!

Hi Dave and Maz,

A good one for the Road Conditions section of this forum. Another suggestion is to mention the places in the topic so that others can use it for future reference,

cheers,

Jim

Have just travelled north from Brisbane to Cooktown and seen lots of wedge-tail eagles along the highways.

Last month when we were in Cameron Corner there were also lots of the wedge-tails.  Perhaps the wet weather has assisted them to breed more.

They are a lovely looking bird when seen close-up.    smilesmile

Not too close up though, they sometimes seem a bit slow to take off from road kill and I wouldn't like to view one in the car with me!
