Kings Park (Mount Eliza) Perth - Wildflowers & Photo Views

Anyone wanting to see the wildflowers of WA in September without travelling hundreds of kms, a visit to Kings Park in September is well worth it.  Also for other things, the War Memorial (try the whispering wall near the remembrance flame) and terrific photo views of Perth city, the Swan River, South Perth and the Hills.  Great walks, some for the fitter ones and some for just a stroll.

No visit to Perth or WA would be complete without a visit.  Good parking and a towed caravan could get into the parking area also.  Free entry to the park and no parking fees.

There are so many smaller "parks" in KP but as you reach one you forget you just left one around the corner. Each park has some relationship to those that fought for this country and not just for those that lost thier lives. A very interesting area of Perth but a little exy when it comes to food. Again, all of the little park areas are great for picnics or a thermos and bicky on the grass.

Hi Vic

That is one terrific park and one could spend a week there and still not see it all, it certainly gives you the opportunity to see all the wildflowers of WA without all the travelling and for anyone short of time, it should be on top of the list, for places to visit.

Cheers

David

Yes it is a fantastic place to visit David, Yeoeleven has a night shot off the city on his blog from when he visited.

Yes there are lots of minor and not so minor parks within Colls, the main carpark has heaps of parking in it.  Can hire bikes there too for bike rides too or ride your own around the bike paths.  The kiosk prices are not too bad compared to other Perth prices, but taking your own as you said and a picnic blanket or chairs for the grassed areas overlooking Perth makes for a nice picnic.  The kiosk has some chairs and tables.   Avoid buying anything at the tourist shop there the prices are geared for the overseas tourist.  Visit the Tourist Info centre near the main carpark there though for a free map or the area and times for guided tours etc.

If possible, avoid weekends, school holidays or public holidays, but still ok then also.
