The Grey Nomads website has now reached the 4000 member mark which is fantastic and a testiment to our webmistress Cindy's original concept and hard work in designing this website & keeping it going.
I hope all these new members drop in & say hello & possibly even contribute to one of the many forums we have. I'm sure most members, at some time, have need of a bit of advise, questions or maybe just have a good yarn to share.
With all these members it's a wonder that, on average, there are only about 15 regular contributors to the 'Pick This Place' competition. Surely there are more of you that have travelled this great land of ours that would be able to pick the places in some of the photos that are being contributed.
As most nomads now days have a digital camera at the ready to capture that magic shot, there must be many computers, cameras and memory devices just busting at the seams with memories that you could post to confound and delight our members.
The 'Pick This Place' competition is in one of the stickies at the top of the general forum page so, try to take a minute or so each time you visit this site and have a peak at the latest entry. You never know, you may recognise the place and then have your chance of posting a memory.
Cheers Jon

Congratulations Cindy, job well done. A great website with a fantastic forum and lots of lovely people. I haven't travelled enough to recognise any of the photos of late but do my best when I can. I make up for it by posting on lots of other topics, lol There are still a lot who only post in one or two topics and would have no idea the Pick this Place is even there. There's my hobby horse going again!! But I can't see how hard it is to pop into every topic and meet people you may never heard of before when you only go into one or two.
Thanks Cindy for the time commitment and the dedication to keeping this outstanding forum available to a large group of Nomads and Grey nomads, Thanks heaps

Thanks Cindy for your time and effort you must put into keeping this website running. I for one have found the information and advice on here invaluable. It certainly has been the inspritation that I needed to go it alone and head out, sometime in the not too distant future. Cannot wait to do it and hopefully meet some of the wonderful people on here in a free camp somewhere on the track.
Once again a HUGE THANKYOU.

Thanks to all of you, not only for your kind words but also for helping to make the forum what it is … a really fun, happy and encouraging place to be. I take enormous satisfaction and pride from the way the forum has grown over the years, and in seeing how many people have got so much pleasure and, I hope, ‘inspiration’ from it. I am especially delighted that, even as numbers have grown, the forum has retained what I think is its very special and very welcoming atmosphere. Any soon-to-be grey nomads can certainly see here what the camaraderie of the road is all about! Greens Lake? I would love to make it. I feel like I already know so many of you whom I have never met. Fingers crossed. In any event, thanks for thinking of me ... and thanks once again all of you for helping to make this forum so very rewarding.
Congrats to Cindy for the concept of this wonderful site - I read nearly all new posts - and pass on the word re the site to people when we are talking about travelling stuff. Met a couple last night, who joined up - said it is the sort of site he likes - great!
