Yes I saw those buildings in the story on TV.
Funnily enough I am reading a book called Old B*ast*ards I have met. He talks about the Jackie Howe singlet, which of course is the black singlet. Must have been a long time ago as this book was written in the 1970s and he was already famous.

Yes, according to this he died in 1920.Very interesting info actually.

I think I've read that book, or at least heard of it.

The wind has died today so it's been a beautiful day warm sunny day.

I've decided to head west with sis and bil tomorrow. Sis said I need a longer shakedown trip than just to here. So I'm doing as suggested.

Not sure where we'll be tomorrow night, but we're heading for Injune. Our cousin's wife has a quilt show on there. Apparently she's known all over the west for her amazing quilts.
