About to hit the road big time

My husband Steve & I are about to embark on the big adventure, after me having to take early retirement, we put our house on the market last Saturday & it was sold on Tuesday, the one thing we did not except was that it would sell so quickly, so much to do & plan & very little time to do it all.

We would like to do some work while on the road but need some advice as to how one goes about getting work, we are both still fit & active.

We currently live on the NSW Central Coast & at this moment we have no idea where we will headd to first.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Robyn

Robyn & Steve

enjoy your nomading, wow that was a quick sale, there is always work on the road other members will know more about that but as for which way to go just pull out of your driveway and turn left, it's good to not know where you will end up that day.

Welcome - and congrats on selling your home so quickly - the decision on where to head will maybe depend on the weather - don't want to be too far north in the wet season -
and as Womby says - exit your driveway and tosss a coin - left or right - then take it day at a time.

Thanks Jules, yes the weather will be a deciding factor, Steve is busy getting our motorhome ready. Will post some photos as soon as I get a chance.
The house rather quick & to make it harder the new owners want a quick settlement so we will need to be out of the house by the October long weekend, I suppose it is a good thing that I retired yesterday, so much for chilling out for a few weeks. But I know that once all of this is behind our lives will just be beginning can't wait

Welcome Robyn! I understand how you feel about selling your house so quickly, we are in the process at present, our auction is in 3 weeks so everything is crossed that it goes well... but at least we have a few weeks to adjust our thinking.

For work, have a look at www.workaboutaustralia.com.au and good luck!

PS on messages that you have posted there is  "edit post" at the top, so you can click on that and fix all the goof-ups with spelling etc.

You know that is so true wombat. I can turn left out of my driveway and off I go. If I turn right I am going the wrong bloody way, as it is a one way street.

Welcome - and congrats on selling your home so quickly, we will be selling next year we hope. As far as work, there is a Grey-nomads site for work and it depends to on what kind of work you want..We have been on a couple of cattle stations, and we had a great time, after someone telling us that they would treat us like slaves we thought we ould go and see and it was fun.Lots of work out there just keep your eye open, but also take time to enjoy the open road as that is fun to..

Funny you should say that as yesterday at least 3 cars came up the down road here yesterday, instead of coming down. Because its a short road some sneak through, nobody worries, not a lot of traffic around.
The old guy next door decides when he drives out his gate whether he will go left or right. I would say its about 50 - 50 for him as to which way he goes. He is 86 so we just watch and laugh.

Ellice
we are still in shock regarding our house selling so quickly we thought we would have at least 8 weeks to get everything finalised, but never mind everything happens for a reason & it is that we are meant to be on the road earlier than planned & we are not complaining.
Good luck with the sale of your house too.
Thank you for the input regarding finding work, the one thing we do not want to do is work all of the time, after all the main reason we are going is to see this beautiful country we live in.
