Stayed at Texas, Qld, Dumaresq River camp last night - CAW 5 #802 (actually in NSW, the camp) - lots of room, rubbish bin, and available in town, hot showers, dump point and water at the council depot as well  Good shopping, two supermarkets etc..

Have to agree there jules.... we were going to stay for 2 days, and ended up there for 10 days. Right on the river's edge... pebbly bottom which made it ideal for sitting in ( water was only about 4 feet deep...)... friendly people in the town... Shopping was excellent and I couldn't get over whether I spent $10 or $100 they offered to carry the goods to the car for me... A VERY relaxing place... plenty of firewood available ... wonderful.

Couldn't agree more.

Stayed there back in July, (a bit cold at night) but found the locals very friendly and the location great. Also met some great nomads there as well. Just what an RV friendly town should be.

Recently free camped in Charlton, (Camps site 412). at the Travellers Rest area and enjoyed the facilities. The local shire is looking towards the grey nomads as a saviour for their town. Facilities are good. Support them if you can.

Also stayed at Goroke, not in the Camps book, but at $10 per site per night was good. Power, water, shower and toilets available.

Regards
