Absolutely agree with you there Gazz. You can actually go lower than that and say from Gympie. I live slightly inland from all those towns. better to take some of the back country roads and have an enjoyable drive.

Gday...

So, finally they are spending some money in getting the Goat Track into a better condition.

Guess if we are gonna whinge about the Goat Track we should be tolerant when they take action to fix it.

Cheers - John

They dont do any work at a lot of those stops on Sundays, we got through surprisingly quickly on a Sunday. The roadworks continue south right into NSW too... looking forward to it all being finished. I can remember when the Hume was like this, now its (mostly) a good wide highway.

I've noticed that a lot of the work between Mackay and Proserpine (and maybe elsewhere too) appears to be constructing more passing lanes, something much needed on the Bruce.

I think they are trying to upgrade the whole of Route no 1 - they are working on the Princes Hwy in NSW south of Sydney. Big road works bypassing Tilba at Victoria Creek are progressing well.

But there are a lot of bumps on the New England Highway! Every time we stopped today I found more things out of place or on the floor - never had the problem as bad as we have had it since getting new springs on the old lady. I think our problem is not enough people living in Australia to pay for all our road network.
