I stayed at the Esk caravan park recently. 26 Hassall St. in Esk. (07) 54242815. Email esk@valleyoflakes.com.au. Unpowered site, for seniors, is $22.oo a night. It is a really lovely spot, managed by Shirley and Bill Steel.
I must admit I agree with Jimbo ... I rarely pay $22 for a power site - but I travel in out of the way places I guess. It would appear for a miserly $3 more you could had power at this place - much better value for money with power.
What a "rip snorter" of a caravan park. Large sites, brilliant bbq and camp kitchen facilities, and also a pool. No rec facilities or playground which did not worry us old farts. Quite a few permanents who make visitors welcome at their evening drinks at about 3.30pm. Set in an absolutely scenic location. Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($28 2A per night, powered). We paid $25 because of seniors card. Amenites are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade. Clean UC bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for a week or more. Likes: Just a brilliant park Date 06/2012. Park Rating 5: Report submitted by Mad Mick
So obviously here are others who loved the place too
Cheers - John

I paid 22.50 for a site with power in behind the service station at Moonie last year. I thought that was a bit rich for what it was. Oh! I did get mice added for nothing.
