company on trip around Tasmania in Nov. 2012?

Hi all, I am doing my first trip in my 1982 Campervan with my small dog. I'm leaving Coffs Harbour on 4th Nov. and will travel down to Sutherland stay at friends and head down east coast to Port Melb. to catch Spirit of Tasmania on 7th Nov, 12.  I will probably stay in caravan parks on the way down the east coast of NSW and Vic. but hope to do as much free camping as poss. in Tasmania (pet friendly).  If anyone is planning a Nov. Tasmania trip and wants company, I know I would love it!  Please let me know and perhaps we can catch up or if you have any experience travelling you could give me some guidance and good advice.  I'm on a pension so budget is tight but I'm sure you all know about tight budgets.  So excited about trip. Only problem that concerns me is that I do get lost everywhere I go and sometimes it 'freaks' me out a little?  I have GPS but have been known to bet horribly lost even with that.  So, are you heading south for November? going Tasmania? Any tips, advice, good suggestions for free camps etc., all much appreciated.

thanks, dusty

 Hi dusty,

I will be moving towards Tasmania via Greens Lake, sailing on the 30th November. We could meet up and compare notes I have had some experience in free camping.

John

Hi Dusty.   You'd be in good hands with John if you meet up with him.   In that case you'd probably meet Jules and Billeeeee too at some point.  If you haven't already done so, check out Johns' blog.

Welcome by the way,

Cheers,

Sheba.

I stay in Tasmania when I'm in Australia. Presently in my home in the Philippines. Planning on being in Tasmania January 1. 2013. My RV is stored in Launceston. On Feb. 7 to 12 there is a Combined Chapter Ralley (TCCR) hosted by Island Wanderers of CMCA. It's being held at Inveresk Showgrounds, Launceston. Will be worthwhile attending. If you need contact details, PM me. Lot of free camping sites in Tassie. Check out Wanderer's Mate and CMCA website if you are a member.

dusty, Welcome to the grey nomads.
Not a good idea to put personal details on here for the public to read. You can go in and edit you post to delete them if you want.
Just ask people to PM you which is Private message. Then you can get info that way.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement re my first trip heading to Tasmania. Thanks also to Happy Wanderer for the heads up regarding keeping private info in Private message mode. I shall try and get into private info (fumbling about on this site but I'll get the hang of it soon) and change it. I have always been a trusting soul and pretty open about everything but as my darling daughter says..."I'm worried about you travelling mum"...she would like to think I am keeping safe and aware of security issues. Bye for now, I feel like I have connected with some wonderful fellow travellers already and I haven't even left home! dusty
