spotting grey nomads on the road

hi all, i don,t post much but enjoy reading everyones travel stories, we will be at recliffe just north of Brisbane at the end of the month for a couple of weeks. when we travel i never see other GNs . We have decided to put a grey ribbon on the front of the van so it identifies we are GNs. We are still waiting for our new stickers and when strolling around a van park unless you are walking behind a van you can,t tell who are GNs. we do stop and chat if people are about but still no sign of the elusive GNs. What are we doing wrong ???no   regards to all Heather

Heather, they are an elusive lot to try and hunt down when out and about. But, easy to find on here! Whenever somebody posts that they are coming to a place near you, send them a pm.
A good way of meeting fellow forumites from my personal experience.

Not many on here seem to either, unless it has been prearranged.

I've had a couple of stickers made through Vistaprint. Nothing like The Grey Nomad sticker but they do say Grey Nomad, I chose a sea scene (Aqua)with Grey Nomad in purple at the top.
Must put them on before I head out again.
Perhaps GreyGhosts it is a good idea to post on here where and when you are going to be at a particular place. Anybody in the same area can message you to arrange a meet up.

I have had a GN sticker on the back of our van for over 12 months. We have traveled from NSW through Qld & NT to WA & have never seen another GN sticker or had anyone come up to us & ask us about it. They must be out there though as they are a booming race, unlike the DoDo.

I had these made up by Vista print when they sent me an email offering free small door magnets including free post as they reckon I was a good customer, they probably say that to everyone though. I have been using them for years though. I got two door magnets and a small banner that looks the same, the banner has the three www in fornt though, they wouldn't fit on the door magnet.

So if you see these around, tis little old me.

I have the GN stickers front and back too. The front one has now peeled off in pieces and the back one has faded.
People must wonder what I am up to when I circle the vans that come through and park in town. Haven't seen one with a GN sticker yet.

Greyghosts if you have not stop at Scarborough holiday Village before it is a great park but would book ahead always busy , You can stop at the Redcliffe Showgrounds cheap long walk to shower in some parts very dark at night

Like most others we have kept a keen eye out for other forum members so far without success but one day that will change, we have a forum sticker on back of caravan and one on the back of our car, keep a look out for us

I have a grey ribbon on the front left of the ute and one on back of van. Have not seen anyone else but have also decided that a personal message is the only way to go now. Could put our phone numbers with our signature but then safety is a problem there.

May I suggest that if you want to meet other GN's, you put your location on your sig? It makes it easy to see where I am if you visit the Nations Capital.
But wont be here for much longer!! smilesmilesmile

Do you add it each time you post Gerty or is it in your sig and you only changer it when you move somewhere different??

I do think that is a great idea. Then anyone in the same area just needs to PM you for a meet up.

No I put it in the sig when we are at home or staying in one place. If we're on the road I put it in each post, sort of adds to the fun of moving around!
