RE: Millmerran Camp Oven Festival 6th/7th October

Hi - Doug - we are having a good time, even though the official stuff doesn't start till tomorrow - had a game of bowls yesterday, haven't lost my touch, did all right seeing as I hadn't bowled since March.

But you see the trouble these two get up to if I leave them alone for too long??????

I'm getting a stiff neck swapping from this thread section to the same thread on Get Togethers, although I can't be there myself like to keep up with all the happenings especially the antics of the characters that are there!

Hope you all have a good time, I know you will!  biggrin

There were many activities at the show today, Bush Poets Breakfast was first on the agenda at 7.30am followed by the Official Opening and more country music. There are lots of other activities including:- whip cracking, working dog show, horse shoeing and cooking shows. All fascinating stuff if you are from the country but over the top for me.

I spent most of the day with Billeee & Jules with time talking to Wayne & Cherylle (retirees) from the Grey Nomads forum, Had a good day ending in me getting lost in the dark finding my way to the van amongst 1500 others. Went the full circle before finding a familiar spot and taking it from there, I used to cut across the van parking sites but now it is full I have to go the long way round.

Sunday afternoon and the festivities are over and there is a steady stream of vans leaving, I had put up my annex this morning and got a call from Jules telling me that there was a space next to them so here I am next to Billeees motor home.

Just had another visitor who recognized the van from my avatar Julie & John from the forum           JohnMillmerran+Show+001.JPG

Had a great time at Millmerran - met some terrific people - new nomads - Wayne and Cherylle (Retiree) who travel in "the silver bullet" - Julie - sorry can't remember your site name - and of course, spent time with Yeoeleven - who is travelling now with us to Coffs Harbour - we are at a good little stop at the moment - Lollback - about 45k east of Grafton (Camps 5 #250) -toilet, shelter sheds, asphalt and grass - pretty quiet as well.

Would recommend Millmerran Camp Oven Festival as a good fun time - happens every two years.
