At a recent vist to a caravan had to put up with Dog droping on the grass at the front of our caravan , And yapping poodles when I reported this to management they told me they are sick of picking up dog poo and the manger had been bitten by a dog and are looking at changing from dog friendly park maybe this is why some park are charging a fee and bond for dogs
Isn't it always the way, some minorities spoil it for everyone else.
I would think that the number of people who own dogs and don't do the right thing are a small percentage of the total number who travel with their dogs.
It seems to me that over the last ten or twenty years the pushing of acceptable boundaries has reached the point where behaviours have deteriotated to such abysmally low levels we are in danger of getting much worse and causing severe problems for the country.
Drugs in sport where a relatively few years ago it was a lifetime ban,now a slap on the wrist and elevation to the Hall of Fame. Binge drinking from such young ages and our 'Elite' sportmen and women failing to act as role models to the youth of today.
Take our Paralympians, absolutely fantastic performances for the privelige of representing their country and beating their disabilities on minute funding levels.
Didn't they represent themselves and our counrty so brilliantly.
Our Elite Olympians who want more and more money and want the priveleged lifestyle who failed miserably. How many of them are millionaires?
Maybe they should have to pay back the funding they receive like university HECS funding .
Sorry to Hijack your thread Brickies but the majority are getting so trampled by the minorities these days.

Always pick up after my dog. I did find that in the Caravan parks the permenant residents dogs were the ones that left droppings all over the parks. Witnessed this on more than one occasion
In my experience, it is local dogs accompanying their jogging/cycling owners on the daily excercise through the park. When I have complained, I was told the CP managers have no authority to stop them.
Rosie.
P.S. all dogs bark/yap if they are untrained and undisciplined.
We stayed at a caravan park in Gundagai, and there was a big sign on the front office which said "NO Dogs!"... this was surprising as we'd stayed there before and dogs were allowed at that time. The manager told us it was too difficult to be cleaning up after them, as well as dealing with peoples complaints. She said she found dog-owners very pushy as well.
So thats why theres another park where you cant take your dog any more.... but I suspect on this forum that we are preaching to the converted and irresponsible dog-owners wouldnt bother reading this.
Yes while on the road this time In steped into a nice fresh one out side our caravan not knowning and walk inside the van what job clean that mesh up and getting rid of the smell we now watch where we walk around dog friendly caravan parks
As owners of two dogs that travel with us I have to say that we make sure that our dogs droppings are always away from caravans in fact we always go outside the site. In free camp situations we do similar by ensuring we are nowhere near a camper. We always clean up after them. In the main I would say that most people who are travelling with dogs do the same. Unfortunately there is always some that don't and because of them we are all lumped into that basket. We have at times pulled a dog owner up by not picking up after their dog and some will tell you it's none of your business. In the end you can only do what you know is right and try and help others who have forgotten their responsibility.
