Well after seven mths on the road this time we are back home , all safe & sound.
This trip took us south at first to Newcastle to visit friends, we then travelled up the hunter valley in a n/w direction to a ten day country music festival.
Then north to Boondooma, Qld for another ten day camp with more country music & bush poets, from there we headed to Brissy & G/Coast to visit family.
Again a northerly direction landed us at the Gympie get together where the party started with fellow GN members.
A steady couple of months on the road we arrived at Mt Moloy where several GN's we camped, many from the Gympie party.
After a few days there we headed to Cooktown as this was our turn around point & we had been there a couple of times before.
Back to Mareeba to catch up with all the crew again for some great cookup nights. The planed few days soon turned into three weeks.
Onto Atherton & Ravenshoe, At this point Leonie's old back injury took a new lease on life meaning she could not get up or down without assistance, to the point where we had to carry her from point to point on the sunday. With no facilities in this little town we headed back down to Innisfail for treatment on monday. On our arrival at the Innisfail camp area on sunday arvo we were once again meet by Briche with dinner in hand as they were camped just 20 mins up the road. Thanks guys.
With further treatment & rest required we joined Briche on monday arvo at Babinda, a great little town & camp area. With L, still in limp mode we made our way south again as far as Townsville then west to Charters Towers where we meet up again with Kiwi-as. Many good nights followed over the next three weeks as we travelled south to Emerald & across to the Glasshouse Mts where we made the surprise visit to Glassies, Della & Grahame for the weekend & the party continued. Thanks again to graeme in assisting with the supprise on Della, this was one plan that realy came together when we saw the excitment on Della's face.
Moving on we called into Brissy & G/Coast to visit family, Leonie had further treatment at the G/Coast & is now feeling much better, we made the final run home on monday, calling in on Kiwi-as for a early coffee. Going to have to let these guys turn their alarm clock back on hahahah. A big day tuesday with cleaning up as we have Kiwi-as arriving wednesday for a few days & will be joined by Briche as well around the end of the week. Dare say the same party will continue again, just the locations vary.
J & L.

Good to hear you are home safely and had a great 7 months. We managed 2 months and went up as far as Blackall and back, meandering all the way. Bob sympathizes with Leonie because he developed a bad back with sciatica just before Charleville, so we visited the hospital there. Unfortunately his is still continuing as he won't rest enough. One good thing that came out of this is my confidence towing the van now as I had to do a lot from there home. We are hoping to get away for short trips until Feb and then a few months at a time. Hoping to maybe get to Greens Lake to meet some more GNs in Nov.
Great to see you are home safely Jim and Leonie. Sorry to read Leonie is having more trouble with her back. I think mines gone out in sympathy with hers, when she comes up with a miracle cure please send it this way.
Ted and I arrived home on Monday too after 3 months out with our new van, although it did sit empty in Alice for 4 weeks while we crossed the Simpson, travelled through the Diamantina N.P, up to Porcupine Gorge, Karumba and Lawn Hill, then back to Alice via The Sandover.
4 weeks in a little tent and stretchers was enough for us.
Might catch up with you in the play paddock next year !!!!
Good to see you back safe and well Jim and Leonie - and thanks for inviting us to stay last night - had a great night with you two and Kiwi-as, who are here to stay for a while. Great hospitality - though no pav from Lorraine!!!!!!

Great hospitality - though no pav from Lorraine!!!!!!
Hey Jules, Lorraine needs a bit more than a short notice to whip up a pav; haha But the weekend is looking good., Maybe Leonie will do her pav roll as well. This may end up being a bake off; Jenny Craig eat your heart out. Us boys will just go out to the shed & work it off.
Thanks for dropping in.
